Yemane Tsegay

Yemane Tsegay ( Yemane Tsegay Adhane , Amharic የማነ ፀጋዬ አድሃነ ; born April 8, 1985 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .

In 2008 he won the Half Marathon of Casablanca in 1:02:02 hours, was third in the Casablanca Marathon in 2:13:29 hours and set the marathon of Macau with a 2:15:06 course record.

In 2009 he finished second in the Marrakech Marathon in 2:10:48 and then qualified fourth in the Paris Marathon with a time of 2:06:30 for the World Athletics Championships in Berlin , where he was fourth in 2:08:42 has been. In autumn he won the Gyeongju International Marathon in 2:08:52.

In 2010 he won the Lake Biwa marathon in 2:09:34. At Prague Half Marathon , he finished third at the Prague marathon second and the Berlin Marathon in fourth. In 2011 he finished ninth in the Tokyo Marathon , eighth in the Prague Marathon, third in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon and won the Taipei International Marathon .

In 2012, a tenth place in the Dubai Marathon was followed by a victory in the Rotterdam Marathon in his best time of 2:04:48.

At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing , he won the silver medal in the marathon in 2:13:08 hours. He won the Fukuoka Marathon 2016 in 2:08:48 with a lead of 9 seconds over the former world record holder Patrick Makau.
