You Are Dead is a feature film directed by Andy Hurst and starring John Hurt , Rhys Ifans and David Schneider . The thriller is the first Atlantic Streamline production by Marco Weber , was shot in Aachen , Hürth , Cologne , Krefeld and London by executive producer Rolf Engelhart and was shown in British cinemas for the first time on October 1, 1999.

Eddie, Ian and the freed Maitland raid a bank after long preparations. When they are already done and want to flee, another gang emerges who wanted to rob the same bank. Shortly afterwards the police units arrive. Both gangs are entrenched in the bank. They join forces, Jo who is present helps the robbers.
The police are commanded by Inspector Badger. There is an exchange of fire and negotiations that Professor Corner leads. After a few days the building was stormed. The robbers are all dead, Jo turns out to be a covert policewoman.
Music album
The film's title track of the same name is a collaboration between Die Toten Hosen and TV Smith . The album with the soundtrack of the film was released by JKP in 1999 and contains music by the bands Bloodhound Gang , Red Hot Chili Peppers , Everlast , Blondie , The B-52’s , Van McCoy , Manic Street Preachers , Fine Young Cannibals , The Sisters of Mercy , Engelbert , Robert Folk , The Stranglers , Regular Fries , Polar , The Cardigans and Joydrop .
Reviews
On filmspiegel.de the plot was described as "tapped" . The film was "hilarious" , the play by Rhys Ifans and John Benfield was praised. Film-dienst 21/1999 praised the "original ideas", which, however, were not free from " bold gossip " . The thriller shows "the psychological network of relationships" of the participants in the events.
