The blue-green leaves are 20 to 40 cm long and 2 to 4 cm wide in the middle. In contrast to the subspecies Yucca harrimaniae subsp. sterile , the leaves are stiffer. The leaf margins form fibers.

The inflorescence that begins in the leaves becomes 0.4 to 1 meter high. The pendulous, bell-shaped, spherical, hermaphrodite flowers are 4 to 6 cm long and 2 to 3 cm in diameter. Of the six white to cream-colored bracts of the same shape , the outer ones are sometimes covered in purple. The flowering period extends from May to June.
