Yucca potosina is a species of palm lily ( Yucca ) in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).
description
The solitary Palma, Palma Baretta Yucca Yucca potosina is stem-forming and reaches a height of two to eight meters. The stiff, rough, green leaves 0.3 to 1 meter long form fibers on the leaf edges. The hanging flower stem is 0.8 to 1.2 meters long. The white spherical to elongated flowers are 2–5 cm long and 1–1.5 cm wide.
Yucca potosina is another member of the Yucca section , Treculianae series . It is related to Yucca filifera and Yucca carnerosana . The flowering period is from May to July. It is little known and rare in culture.
distribution
Yucca potosina is common in the Chihuahua Desert in Mexico in the state of San Luis Potosí at an altitude of 1500–1800 m. It is associated with Yucca carnerosana , Agave stricta , Dasylirion spec., Encephalocarpus strobiliformis , other Turbinicarpus and Echinocereus species.
Systematics
The first description by Jerzy Rzedowski under the name Yucca potosina was published in 1955.
