Yun Pong-chol (born January 24, 1971 ) is a former North Korean ice hockey player and later coach.
Career
Yun Pong-chol played for the first time at the C-World Championship in 1993 in the North Korean national team . After the East Asians did not take part in world championships for the next eight years, he did not return to international assignments until the 2002 World Cup in qualifying for Division II, where he and his team made it to Division II for the upcoming World Cup. There he played at the World Championships in 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2009 . After relegation in 2009 he was part of the squad again in Division III in 2010 . However, he was not used and, like two years earlier , acted as the North Koreans' assistant coach.
At club level, Yun plays for Pyongchol in the North Korean ice hockey league . With the team he was North Korean national champion in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010.
