Yvonne Magwas (born November 28, 1979 in Rodewisch , GDR ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013 .

education and profession

Yvonne Magwas grew in the Saxon Vogtland in Falkenstein and Auerbach and laid 1998 her Abitur at the local Goethe - High School from. From 1999 she studied sociology , psychology and business administration at the Technical University of Chemnitzand graduated in 2006 with a degree in sociology. Political party

Yvonne Magwas joined the Junge Union in 1998 and the CDU in 2001. From 2001 to 2006 she was chairwoman of the Junge Union Vogtland , from 2003 to 2008 she was a member of the regional executive board of the Junge Union Sachsen and Lower Silesia and has been the deputy chairwoman of the CDU Vogtland since 2008.

Political electoral offices

In the local elections in Saxony in 2003, she became city ​​councilor in Auerbach and a member of the Vogtlandkreis district council and held both offices until 2009 and 2005 respectively.

In the 2013 federal election , Magwas became a member of the German Bundestag through the CDU state list of Saxony. There she was a full member of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the Committee on Culture and Media . In 2014, the federal government sent her to the radio council of Deutschlandradios and is also a member of the finance and economic committee.

In the 2017 federal election , she ran as CDU successor to Robert Hochbaum in the Vogtlandkreis federal constituency and won the direct mandate there with 35 percent of the votes. She is still a full member of the Committee on Culture and Media and now a full member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment . On February 22, 2018, she was elected chairman of the “Group of Women” in the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

She is in a relationship with the politician Marco Wanderwitz (married, three children), with whom they had a child at the beginning of April 2019.
