The Zambaccian Museum ( Romanian : Muzeul Zambaccian ) in Bucharest , Romania is a museum in the former home of Krikor Zambaccians (1889–1962), a Romanian businessman and art collector of Armenian origin. The museum was founded in 1947, closed by the Ceaușescu regime in 1977 and reopened in 1992. Today it is a part of the National Art Museum of Romania . Its collection includes works by Romanian artists, including a portrait of its founder by Corneliu Baba and works by various French Impressionists . It is located in the north of Bucharest, not far from Piața Dorobanților in a street that is now named after Zambaccian and the museum.
