Zebecke is a Hungarian community in the county Lenti in Zala county . The place with an area of 4.45 km² has 58 inhabitants (as of 2011).
Geographical location
Zebecke is located about 15 kilometers east of the city of Lenti . Neighboring communities are Csertalakos , Mikekarácsonyfa, Ortaháza and Kissziget.
history
The place was first mentioned around 1300 and was formerly surrounded by dense forest. During the Turkish wars, some battles took place in the Zebecke area. That is why the hand with the sword and the tree symbol have been included in the village's coat of arms.
The “Geographical-Historical Lexicon of Hungary” (1786) describes the place as a “village in Salader Kom [itat] 3 M [eilen] von Egerßeg , in the larger district of Kapornak . Lives from farming, is Prince Eßterhasich and Ludwich Erdödisch ” .
Today the village is no longer important. The number of inhabitants is constantly falling, today there are 58. There are only a few children under the age of 18 and many of the buildings are empty houses. There is neither a shop nor a restaurant.
The mayor Imre Varga works on a voluntary basis, the administration is carried out in an administrative community of 8957 Csömödér Rákóczi. The municipal council (self-administration) consists of two other citizens.

The road no. 7547 runs through Zebecke. The nearest train station is three kilometers south in Ortaháza.
