The Zeiher Homberg is a forested mountain in the northern Swiss Jura . It is named after the municipality of Zeihen in the canton of Aargau ; its southern slope belongs to the communities Thalheim and Schinznach . In the west, the Homberg has a share in the community of Densbüren . The mountain peak is 782.4 m above sea level. M. and is used by delta sailors who usually land in Oberzeihen. Therefore there is a mast with a windsock there. The Zeiherbach and the Sissle arise on the Zeiher Homberg .
Halfway to the summit there is a hut on the side of the path. It is built on the site of the former hamlet of Sonnenhof, which burned down at the beginning of the 19th century. On the road leading down the valley, chestnut trees are still a reminder of the bush farming today. The Homberg is located in the Kilholz district .
In 1941 an underground artillery plant was built on the mountain top in order to be able to shoot at the Zeihen - Hornussen and Bözbergstrasse in an emergency .
