The Zeltfestival Ruhr (ZfR) is a cultural festival that takes place annually in late summer in the floodplains of the Ruhr on Lake Kemnader on the city limits between the cities of Bochum and Witten .

history

The festival was first organized in summer 2008 by three Bochum agencies and takes place as a tent festival Ruhr on 25,000 m² in the greater North Rhine-Westphalia area . The tent city offers various music, cabaret and art programs for 17 days every year from mid-August to early September. The focus is on three large event tents and around 40 guest performances and concerts per year. In addition to the guest performances in the tents, there is a craft market (“Market of Possibilities”) with over 80 exhibitors, two outdoor stages and a beer garden with 20 restaurateurs.

In 2015, around 140,000 visitors visited the Ruhr Zeltfestival on the 17 days, half of them attended the guest performances and concerts, the other half the outdoor area and the market.

So far, musicians such as Joe Cocker , Status Quo , Ed Sheeran , Amy MacDonald , Silbermond , Milow , Die Fantastischen Vier , Cro , Jan Delay , Adel Tawil , Howard Carpendale , Gregor Meyle , Kraftclub , H-Blockx , Clueso , Scooter have played at the tent festival and fat bread . The comedians Bülent Ceylan , Frank Goosen , Michael Mittermeier , Bastian Pastewka and Rainald Grebe appeared with their programs.
