Zhang Yiwei (born October 3, 1992 in Anshan ) is a Chinese snowboarder . He starts in the halfpipe discipline.

Career

Zhang drove his first FIS World Cup race in Cardrona in August 2009 , which he finished in 40th place. At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina , he finished 39th. In February 2011 he achieved his first podium finishes in the FIS World Cup with third place in Calgary and second place in Yabuli . He finished the 2010/11 season in fourth place in the FIS halfpipe rating. At World Cup races in Cardrona , he came third and second in 2011 and 2012. In March 2013, he took second place at The Arctic Challenge in Oslo . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he finished sixth. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, he won the Burton High Fives in Cardrona . This was followed by second places at the Dew Tour Mountain Championships in Breckenridge and the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and FIS World Cup races in Copper Mountain . The FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2015 at Kreischberg he won silver. In March 2015, he won the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and FIS World Cup races in Park City . He finished the season in third place in the FIS freestyle overall ranking and first place together with Taylor Gold in the FIS halfpipe ranking . At the 2016 Snowboard World Championships in Yabuli, he finished 18th in the Big Air competition. In the 2016/17 season he finished third at the World Cup in Pyeongchang and fifth at the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . He won the gold medal at the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo . In the 2017/18 season, he came third at the World Cup in Laax and 15th at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
