The first flight took place in 1937, and the aircraft was later assigned the OK-TBZ registration number. Today the prototype is in the Czech National Museum of Technology (Narodní Technické Muzeum) in Prague.

construction

In terms of design, it is a low-wing aircraft made of wood with a pilot's cabin pulled far back. The Z-XIII has a good aerodynamic shape. The main landing gear is rigid and aerodynamically clad. There is a grinding spur at the rear. It was possible to use the area in front of the pilot as stowage space for luggage or as a passenger cabin. There is a specially developed landing flap system on the wings.
