development
The prototype flew for the first time in 1957, series production began in 1959 and ended in 1968. The single-seat Z-326A Akrobat appeared parallel to the two-seater school version . In total, the Zlín factory in Otrokovice built 436 Trenér Masters / Acrobats.
The Zlín Z-326 is based on the Z-226 , but differs from it by the retractable landing gear used for the first time in the "Trenér" series, wings that have been extended by 30 centimeters and a radio set installed as standard. The Z-326 also has a tow hook for gliders . To increase the range, a 35 liter additional tank can be carried at each end of the wing.

The Aerobatic World Championships held in Budapest in 1962 were won by a Z-326A of the Hungarian team equipped with a supercharged M-337 engine and a three-bladed adjustable propeller.
In 1966 three Z-326A (DM-WKA, WKC, WKD) flying in the GDR were equipped with adjustable propellers and larger oil coolers. With these modernized aircraft, third place could be achieved at the 4th World Championships in aerobatics in 1967. The DM – WKB is now in the Aviation Museum Kbely , the DM – WKA was restored in Rudolstadt and has been approved as D – EWTR again since May 2014 in an airworthy condition. A total of five acrobats and six Trenér Masters were used at the GST .
