Zobersdorf

Zobersdorf is a district of the south Brandenburg spa town Bad Liebenwerda . He is mündungsnah close to that of the Great Roeder to Schwarze Elster running little Roeder .

history

Zobersdorf was first mentioned in documents in 1376. Like many communities in the Elbe-Elster area , Zobersdorf also suffered from the Thirty Years' War . The place was particularly hard hit in 1637, when troops of the Swedish general Johan Banér camped in Torgau , about thirty kilometers to the west . Of the original twenty-four families, only four ultimately survived the war. Seventeen farms had been burned down.

After the Thirty Years War the village was rebuilt. Typical for the townscape is its wide village green, which should prevent the spread of fires.

The socialist transformation of agriculture from 1960 onwards led to a transformation of the village structure. The production of agricultural products now took place in the LPG and a large part of the residents drove to work in companies in the area.

In the course of the reorganization of the municipalities of Brandenburg, Zobersdorf was incorporated into the neighboring town of Bad Liebenwerda on December 6, 1993.
