Dean Anderson Gallo (born November 23, 1935 in Hackensack , New Jersey , †  November 6, 1994 in Denville , New Jersey) was an American politician . Between 1985 and 1994 he represented the state of New Jersey in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Dean Gallo attended public schools in his home country. Then he worked as a real estate agent. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1970 he was chairman of the Parsippany-Troy Hills parish council . From 1973 to 1975 he was an executive member of the Morris County County Council . Between 1976 and 1984 he was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly .

In the 1984 congressional election , Gallo was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the eleventh constituency of New Jersey , where he succeeded Democrat Joseph Minish on January 3, 1985 . After four re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death on November 6, 1994 . He originally intended to run again in 1994, but withdrew it for health reasons. He died of prostate cancer.
