# '''Oppose in part'''. This should be a top level article for a project other than the Wine Project. Although it relates to wine, it is not of top importance for our purposes so I suggest it be classified as mid level. - EngineerScotty 04:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC). I'm still a beer drinker at heart (beer has the distinct advantage of not costing USD $30--or orders of magnitude more--for a good bottle), but there's a lot of grapes to harvest on this subject. I'll focus mainly on Oregon wine, but probably (definitely) will have lots of suggestions. And since I probably couldn't distinguish a bottle of Grand cru Burgundy from two buck chuck without reading at the bottle :), I'll bring a different (and possibly) skeptical perspective to the party.

Goals
- Catalog all the notable vineyards & wineries
- Catalog all the notable wine-growing regions
- Organize and categorize all known wine styles, and write decent articles on them
- Add other essential wine-related knowledge to Wikipedia
- Select representative articles to develop toward Featured Article status
- Monitor Category:Wine stubs and develop those stubs into articles
Open Tasks
Articles to Improve to Featured Standard
- Wine
- Burgundy wine
- Pinot Noir
- Riesling -- PASSED Good Article Review.
- Champagne (wine)
- Add your suggestions here!
Wine Improvement Drive articles
- Languedoc wine - Current
- Carmenère - Good Article Nominee
Articles to Expand
- Gewürztraminer
- American wine
- Australian wine
- Penfolds
- New World wine
- Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a wine guide - Input is greatly appreciated
- wine tasting descriptors
- Appellation d'origine contrôlée - I expanded this. I think a bit more work could bring the French AOC to GA status.
- Chilean wine I will be working on this, but help is appreciated since it needs a lot of work. Charleenmerced Talk 05:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Charleenmerced

Articles to translate from other Wiki's
- Rioja - the Spanish language wiki page [1] has a very interesting history section, for example. mikaul 19:52, 16 February 2007 (UTC) - I will translate the Spanish section into the English section.Charleenmerced Talk 02:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Charleenmerced

Articles in Need of Editing or Creation
- Red links on List of champagne producers -
and translate footnotes into EnglishMost of these were not NPOV and were irrelevant otherwise. The list could do with a 'notes' column. Gsherry 14:23, 12 January 2007 (UTC) - See Category:Wine stubs
- Many Chateaux listed in Bordeaux_Wine_Official_Classification_of_1855 need pages. Lots to do here! Steve.Moulding 21:56, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Added a Châteaux Project section to the talk pages here and on Bordeaux_Wine_Official_Classification_of_1855.
- It would be good to list the AOC, DOCs, AVAs, etc... so that each region gets recognition and work can be done on each. For some of the AOCs it is my suggestion that if they are Grand Cru/1er Cru etc... they should be mentioned in the village AOC. Dancingredshoes 19:16, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- List of local wine enthusiast organizations across the US.
- The Spanish wine article is a bit of a mess and may (in parts) be inaccurate, imho. There are dozens of recognised regions, which makes it a major undertaking.. mikaul 18:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- For example, the link to your new article Penedès needs to be fixed (Penedés on the Spanish Wine page)! I think Spanish wine is important and will nominate it in the section below -- Regards Steve.Moulding 18:37, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oops...you already nominated it. Thanks! Steve.Moulding 18:41, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome! The Spanish language [2] version seems much better. I'll translate that, as best I can, as soon as I can mikaul 18:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
