53 | "School's Out: The Musical" | June 10, 2005 | 505/506 |
School's out for Timmy, but some pretty odd things happen afterwards (thus having the chronology reveal that there constant vacations started happening months before The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour). The movie begins in Kansas, 37 years ago. Flunky and Flooky Bob, two clown parents on a speeding circus train, launch their baby son Flappy to safety on in a rocket, believing their train is about to fall over the edge of a canyon (this turns out false moments later). Baby Flappy Bob is found by Head Pixie and Sanderson, who plot to mold him into their ultimate weapon to take over Fairy World in a scheme they plan to execute 37 years later. When those 37 years pass, Dimmsdale Elementary celebrates the start of Summer Vacation while the pixies secretly amplify their destructive behavior to arouse the concern of their parents ("Kids Just Being Kids"). Flappy Bob, now a middle-aged businessman, appears at a town meeting to offer his services by having the parents drop all their kids off at his 24/7 daycare/summer camp, called "Camp Learn-a-torium" ("Get Flappy"), a proposal that immediately gains the dislike of all the kids. With Phase 1 of their 37-year plan complete, Head Pixie and Sanderson appear at Camp Learn-a-torium (which is so overly safe, it bores its occupants to tears) to taunt Timmy and plant the seed in his head that grown-ups are the cause of all their problems. Timmy decides to reverse this issue by wishing that kids could rule the world ("Adults Ruin Everything"). While Flappy Bob and Happy Peppy Gary and Betty are panicking over this sudden shift in rule, Head Pixie and Sanderson brag to themselves over their apparently inevitable victory ("Pixie Rap"). Upon becoming "President of Kid World," Timmy realizes that he is in charge of everything now and immediately sets to work, unfortunately leaving Cosmo and Wanda, who are no longer needed to make Timmy happy, to the mundane chores. As the pixies are quick to point out to Jorgen von Strangle, as the fairies are no longer needed, they must all be pulled back to Fairy World, which he does so ("Pull Back The Fairies"). Cosmo and Wanda are placed in Fairy World Jail, as they were responsible for the fairies' predicament, and pixies are given the right to grant wishes. Just as Timmy is still getting over the shock of having suddenly lost his godparents, Flappy Bob angrily barges into his office, upset that Camp Learn-a-torium was torn town in the kids' rule. As Flappy goes on to rant how everything he knew about fun went into the Learn-a-torium, bursts of his inborn clown personality shine through his business personality, which he quickly and ashamedly apologizes for. Timmy tells him that what he did was fun, which he denies, claiming to have been taught that dull and boring were fun. As if on cue, Head Pixie and Sanderson appear and explain how they found him as a baby and secretly influenced his growth on their philosophies, sent him to Harvard Law School, and produced the money and blueprints for "Happy Peppy Learn-a-Torium." They convince Flappy that the Learn-a-Torium was his dream, which Timmy destroyed. When the pixies provide him with a contract that would give him the ability to change the entire world to his liking (and secretly give the pixies total control of Fairy World), Timmy desperately tries to change Flappy's mind and convince him he's only being used, an accusation they constantly counter ("Hey, Flappy Bob"). The pixies eventually win their argument. Meanwhile, back at Fairy World, Jorgen offers to pardon Wanda on the condition that she blames Cosmo for everything, which would leave him still stuck in jail. In denial of this offer, Wanda joins Cosmo in a love song that tells that, despite their faults, they will always love each other ("Floating With You"), which immediately afterwards turns out to be a distraction to keep Jorgen occupied while Cosmo stole the handcuff keys. Cosmo and Wanda manage to escape just as the pixies take over Fairy World, and only Wanda makes it back to Earth before the rainbow bridge vanishes. While the fairies and the kids complain of the sudden misery they're enduring in their respective homes and Wanda searches for Timmy, Flappy Bob begins to have second thoughts of what Timmy said, worried that he may be shunning his clown parents' wishes for him, whom he knows about because of a photograph they left with him before launching him to "safety" ("Un-fundamentals"). He makes his change of heart when he overhears the pixies bragging over their success, having used "a really dumb clown" to do so. Upset by their words, Flappy finds Timmy (whom Wanda had located and freed from the Learn-a-torium moments ago), dressed in his clown gear, and comes up with a plan to save the day. When Timmy and Flappy gather the kids to cause enough commotion to attract the pixies ("Hey, Flappy Bob (reprise)"), Head Pixie reminds Flappy they have an iron-clad contract. Flappy, on the other hand, reminds them that the contract states that the world is changed according to the way he wants it, and he wants everything back to normal. Thanks to the loophole Flappy exploited, Earth returns to normal and Fairy World is stripped of pixie rule. As a reward, Wanda locates Flappy's parents and reunites the clown family. With Flappy Bob giving up the Learn-a-Torium, Gary and Betty take over. With a little magic from Cosmo and Wanda, the Learn-a-Torium is altered to be more fun (to the shock of Gary and Betty), with some compromise between the desires of both the kids and their parents ("Kids Just Being Kids (reprise)").
