Valentine 's Day (Original title: Valentine's Day ) is an American romantic comedy by director Garry Marshall from 2010. The film is about people on Valentine's Day who have a connection to each other through various channels.
action
The film shows turning points in the romantic relationships of several couples, all of which occur on Valentine's Day. The hub of the various strands is the Siena Bouquet , a flower shop in Los Angeles.
The florist Reed proposes to his girlfriend Morley, which she initially accepts. However, later in the day she changes her mind and leaves him. However, his closest friends Alphonso and Julia are not surprised. As they confess to him, they thought the relationship was doomed. On a plane approaching Los Angeles, Kate, a US Army officer stationed in Iraq, and Holden, who has just ended his relationship, start a conversation. Kate is only on leave for one day to visit her family. When a taxi is not available at the airport, Holden offers her his limousine.
Reed's good friend Julia, an elementary school teacher, is newly in love with Harrison, a doctor. However, Reed finds out that Harrison is married to Pamela and the two have one child when Harrison orders flowers for his wife. Harrison is spending Valentine's Day in San Francisco on a business trip, and Julia wants to join him. When Reed informs her of Harrison's marriage, she initially doesn't believe him, but finds out that Reed is right. It creates a scene in a restaurant that leads to a rift between Harrison and Pamela.
Edison, one of Juliet's students, has a crush on her and wants to send her flowers through the Siena bouquet . Because of Valentine's Day, there are initially delays. Julia finally receives the flowers, but convinces Edison to give them to a lonely classmate who loves him. Edison's babysitter, high school student Grace, has a date with boyfriend Alex to see her first time on Valentine's Day. However, the two are caught. A comment from Grace about this incident leads to a crisis between Edison's grandparents, Estelle and Edgar. Estelle confesses to her husband that he's not the only one she's ever slept with, so she can understand Grace's curiosity about sex.
Willy and Felicia, two of Grace's classmates, are freshly in love and have given each other very romantic gifts: Felicia has received an oversized teddy bear that she carries around with her all day, and Willy has had a "lucky number" ironed on his sports shirt. The two are interviewed by Kelvin for a local news show and say they don't want to have sex yet.
Sean, a homosexual professional football player, is considering coming out with his agent Paula and PR rep Kara, which will mark the end of his career. Kara is a close friend of Julia's and is preparing her annual anti-Valentine's Day party. However, she meets Kelvin, who also hates Valentine's Day, especially since he has to do the feature about couples in love. The two fall in love and a kiss ensues. Paula's new secretary Liz has been going out with Jason from the post office for a few weeks. When he learns that Liz is making extra money with phone sex, an argument breaks out. Liz justifies herself by saying that she is bankrupt because of her student loans. Jason runs away in an argument. However, after seeing Estelle and Edgar make up in an open-air cinema with a public kiss, he returns to Liz.
Eventually, Sean comes out in a national television appearance. Holden, who was with him, then decides to return to him. Kate arrives home and is greeted by her son. It's Edison. After an evening together, Felicia and Willy say goodbye with a kiss. Alex and Grace decide to wait to have sex too. After the turbulent events of the day, Reed and Julia meet again and realize that they have more than just friendly feelings for one another.

"Romantic ensemble comedy with a large cast of stars, which dramaturgically does not get the multitude of characters under control and gets lost in superficially drawn dramolettes whose hysterical struggle for romance seems mendacious and sterile."
"Despite the star cast, the successful comedy director Garry Marshall manages little more than pink slapstick with" Valentine's Day "."
"Pretty boring, boring chatter-cinema."
"No, the romantic comedy was not reinvented with" Valentine's Day ". Fortunately, the ensemble film is naturally a promiscuous format: You don't have to endure any character for long. Whatever Valentine's Day, it has its message here. "
“This is a film that could be described by the various degrees of temperature it plunges us into every few minutes. Which is related to the bundle of Hollywood stars who were brought together for a tangled mix of episodes on Valentine's Day, February 14th. "
