Calla V. Urbanski-Petka is an American pair skater. With partner Rocky Marval, she won the 1992-1993 U.S. National Champion. They finished tenth at the 1992 Winter Olympics.[1]
Life and career
Urbanski was raised in Skokie, Illinois.[2]
With her third partner, Michael Blicharski, she placed 6th at the 1988 U.S. Championships. The partnership ended when he joined an ice show due to financial problems.[3] She then competed two seasons with Mark Naylor but they split after a 7th place finish at the Goodwill Games.[3]
Urbanski and Marval were dubbed "The Waitress and the Truck Driver" by the media because of their former occupations.[2] They announced the end of their partnership in June 1992.[4] They later reunited and turned professional, enjoying several successful years in the mid-1990s. Urbanski currently coaches and lives in Wilmington, Delaware.
Urbanski also skated with Joe Mero.
