Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa Geldof[1] (born 16 March 1989) is a British socialite and occasional broadcaster.

Background

Geldof was born in London in 1989, the second daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates. She is the granddaughter of Hughie Green. Her sisters are Fifi Trixibelle (born 1983) and Little Pixie (born 1990), and she also has a younger half-sister, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence, (born 1996).

She grew up in Chelsea, and sat AS-level exams in 2006 in History Of Art, Classical Civilisation, Politics, and English at Queen's College, London. She currently lives in Islington.[2][3]

Life in the spotlight

Geldof wrote and presented her own reality TV programme, Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind in 2005, which was followed up with Peaches Geldof: Teen America, which aired on Sky One in the UK on March 1 2006.[4] She has recently acted as a guest reporter for Tonight with Trevor McDonald for the ITV network and presented The beginner's guide to Islam and T4's coverage of the NME Awards 2007 for Channel 4. She has also penned a number of columns and articles for The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and Elle Girl magazine. In 2006, Geldof was placed at number seven in the Tatler's list of Top Ten Fashion Icons for the year, the youngest person on the list.[5] In 2007, readers of FHM voted her the 53rd sexiest woman in the world.[6] In November 2007 it was reported that Geldof was lined up to present a new version of The Tube, a TV music magazine show which made the former presenter, her mother Paula Yates, a star in the 1980s.[7]

Geldof has received criticism for her party lifestyle, sometimes perceived as wild and self-destructive, with critics noting her lack of years, access to wealth (claimed on her myspace account as in excess of £250,000 a year[8]) and hunger for fame as potential problems.[9][7][8]. Pete Doherty blamed his poor performance at 2005's Live 8 concert on Peaches making a "suggestive" comment to him shortly before he went onstage, which the teenager denied.[10] However, opinion remains divided both among the press and those purportedly close to her, with many sources describing her as balanced and down to earth.[4][9][11] She famously branded fashion gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine "upper-class bitches with no fashion sense."[4]

Geldof and friend Fifi Brown make up a DJ-ing duo known as Trash Pussies.[9][8] She was romantically involved for some time with Frederick Blood-Royale (real name Fred MacPherson) of the band Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man, with whom she also DJs,[11][12] though tabloid coverage of her lifestyle has linked her to many celebrity boyfriends, including Russell Brand, and Donny Tourette,[11][7] and the pair have now split up.[7] It has been speculated that In September 2007 Geldof made her catwalk debut modelling for PPQ at London Fashion Week. She was also announced as the face of the Australian fashion line Dotti.[13]

In September 2007 Peaches Geldof was featured in the British Hello! Magazine wearing three different dresses (one was claimed to be the historic white 'blow-up dress' from 'The Seven Year Itch'), which were claimed to have been the Marilyn Monroe worn movie costumes. The gossip focused supermarket tabloid paid £7,000 for a cover shoot to dress Peaches Geldof in the gowns, which were also claimed to have been created by the Oscar-winning costume designer William Travilla himself. An exhibition was connected to the Peaches Geldof photo shoot, which was named the 'Lost Collection' of William Travilla. Before the first exhibition opening in Brighton, UK, the British associate and spokesperson for the Travilla exhibit, Andrew Hansford would create media attention and controversy through verbal attacks since the hosting facilities for the planned exhibition were unclear and uncertain. The world famous Hilton Hotel chain would offer to host the exhibition which asked for £10 per admission ticket.[14] In October 2007, the estate of William Travilla opened an exhibition for their 'Lost Collection,' in Brighton, UK, and the exhibit was announced to tour the entire country and then move to the United States. But a second exhibition stop, scheduled to be taking place in Bath, UK, was canceled before its opening and shortly after the authenticity of the Peaches Geldof worn dresses was questioned by the media.[15]

Peaches Geldof is dating Faris Rotter from the The Horrors.[16]
