Josh Girard

The male star of the show before Tracy was hired. He, Tracy, and Jenna Maroney are the three main actors on the show. Most of his work on the show is as an impressionist; he has performed impressions of Ray Romano, Michael Jackson, Stone Phillips, and Jay Leno. Original characters that he plays on the show include "Dr. Ridiculous", a Chinese man named Mr. Wang, and Gaybraham Lincoln. In the episode "The Break-Up", Josh reveals that his parents raised him as a girl for ten years. Jack Donaghy mentions in the show's second episode that Josh had a 760 SAT score and graduated from SUNY Cortland.

His impressions has also raised eyebrows from people who are not impressed, like Elizabeth Taylor (Played by Rachel Dratch), who knocked him out with an extinguisher and leaving him brain damaged after he did a sketch that offended her in which he impersonated the actress. Some of his ideas he wants to do for the show have not impressed either Tracy or the staff whenever he comes up with one. In "The Baby Show," Tracy got mad at Josh for impersonating him, claiming that Josh was turning him into a caricature.

In "Hard Ball", Josh's agent Alan Steiner is introduced, who uses unnecessary abbreviations and has an expensive sex addiction. It is also revealed that Josh is Jewish.

James "Toofer" Spurlock

An African-American writer for TGS with an aversion to the stereotypical aspects of black culture embodied by the show's star, Tracy Jordan. According to Liz, Toofer is "afraid of black people." According to Jack, his nickname is 'Toofer' because "with him you get a two-for-one; he's a black guy and a Harvard guy." Toofer becomes angry in the episode "The Break-Up" when Tracy refers to him with the n word. Also in this episode, it is revealed that Toofer used to write for a BET show called Black Frasier. A short clip of the show was played in this episode, and the show was just the show Frasier done with an African-American cast. Tracy says that Black Frasier aired on BET, Thursday nights "at about 9:00 or 9:15." He also hangs around with Frank when it comes to playing a series of pranks, most of them towards Jenna Maroney.

Cerie (pronounced "sir-REE") is Liz's sexy and attractive assistant. Her last name has thus far not been mentioned.

She is an object of desire for the mostly male staff writers on the show because of her youth and her very revealing clothing. She does not wear bras, saying her breasts holds up very well without them. In "Jack the Writer," Liz tried to get to to tone down her attire, so as to not distract the male writers, to no avail. Cerie herself seemed to be naïvely unaware of the effect she has on the male writers, thinking that Liz didn't like her clothing due to her having "one of those body image things."

Cerie has certain standards when it comes to dating men. In the episode "Jack-tor" she told the staff (and, through the fourth wall, the viewers) that she doesn't date men who don't drink Snapple. She also appears to be rather lazy as demonstrated in the pilot where, when Liz asked her to get coffee, she politely declined, despite it presumably being part of her job, preferring to lounge on the couch. In "Jack the Writer," she told Liz that her future goals are to "marry rich and then design handbags."

In "The Baby Show," she became engaged after dating her fiancé Arus for five weeks ("it will be two months in three weeks"). Much to Frank Rossitano's relief, she has stated that she will not cease to wear her revealing attire after her marriage. Bowden has stated that her character's future husband is a "rich billionaire shipping-heir kind of guy," though this has not yet been stated on the show. It was also in that interview that Bowden mentioned that Cerie came from a rich family and that "supposedly, her parents got her the job and no one knows why she's there."

Arus apparently "does this thing where he screams at limo drivers," which Cerie apparently finds hilarious. When Liz told Cerie that she may be rushing into her marriage, Cerie replied that she would only be able to be a "young hot mom" for a limited time and that she didn't want to be "like...fifty" when her children graduate from high school. If their first child is a girl, possible names include "Bookcase," "Sandstorm" and "Hat," though Cerie thinks "Hat" is "more of a boy's name." In "Up All Night," she stated that she and Arus were fighting because he wants a Greek Orthodox wedding and she disagrees with the Church's stance on Cyprus.

Dennis Duffy

Dennis is Liz Lemon's on-again-off-again boyfriend who is the last remaining beeper salesman in New York City. He is known by his customers as "The Beeper King" because that's all he sells, plus he is the successor to the original "Beeper King," who passed away, which is how he got his newfound name and business title.

Although Liz does not enjoy dating him and that she decided to take him back simply because he asked, she cannot seem to break up with him despite Jack's encouragement to do so. He is also not liked by Jenna, who thinks Liz can do better. According to Liz's list of pros and cons about Dennis, he dislikes his own mother, who Liz also does not like, and that Dennis' mother, in turn, does not approve of Liz. Her list also indicates that he is Catholic, that he loves Family Guy and that he has seen her vomit. In "Tracy Does Conan" he was seen doing the maze on the back of a cereal box and complaining about how easy it was.

Unfortunately his behavior and attitude would start getting to Liz after she took him back and allowed him to move in with her, when he began messing up her hair before she went to work by giving her noogies, used her computer to download a video game (Halo 2), called her constantly (even to ask her to call for Nickleback tickets while using her computer to download the aforementioned game), breaking the wall to make room for a TV, babysitting a Great Dane, despite knowing that Liz is allergic to dogs (he says allergies are all mental), and allowing his cousin Teddy to stay with them. He even visited her at work at unlikely times, peddling his wares, with Jack buying some of his beepers.

In the episode "The Break Up," it would be those reasons to push Liz to the breaking point when she finally dumped Dennis and told him to leave ASAP, and he does. The following day Dennis shows up with a good-bye note at her job saying that he was sorry, prompting everyone to feel sorry for Dennis and even Jack and Jenna began to like him. Dennis later privately explained to Jack how he manipulates Liz:

It's like my cousin Teddy's dog. Sometimes he just doesn't want to lick my feet, so what I do is I hide my feet from him for a couple of days and then when he sees them he goes bananas. So Jack, in this example, Liz is the dog and I am my feet.

Liz decided to write a series of pros and cons about what she liked about him, prompting her to realize that Dennis wasn't that bad after all. When Liz returns home, she finds her place back to normal with an apology note left by Dennis, who later stops by to see how she is doing with a gift for her and afterwards let him in to finish the take-out Chinese dinner she ordered. But as he goes into the kitchen she sits down to watch Dateline NBC, where she sees a hidden camera investigation that reveals Dennis is an online sexual predator, who was hoping to meet a sixteen-year-old, claiming he thought she was twenty-two (Ironically, he made that same comments earlier in the episode to Jack, but reversed it as saying that all the 22-year-olds he meets are actually 16). After Dennis sees Liz watching the program he tries to turn it off, but a fuming Liz throws him out, this time for good.

Dr. Leo Spaceman

Dr. Leo Spaceman (last name pronounced "Spi-chemm-in," except by Tracy, who pronounces it "Space-man") is Tracy Jordan's incompetent and unethical doctor who treats him with wildly experimental methods. In "The Rural Juror," it is revealed that Spaceman got his medical degree from the Ho Chi Minh City School of Medicine. During a phone call with Liz, Dr. Spaceman begins hitting on her and offers her drugs. Jack thinks that Dr. Spaceman is a fine doctor and also mentions that Spaceman is a "pretty good" dentist. Jack apparently uses Spaceman when he needs a doctor to endorse to a product. Dr. Spaceman's research on the effects of bread "eating away out your brain" cannot be completed because "the powerful Bread Lobby keeps stopping [his] research." He has always believed that humans need more animal blood; it keeps the spine straight.

In the episode "The Baby Show," Liz is seeking help with fertility and she calls the number under fertility in the Writers Guild health manual. Leo reveals that he is listed under fertility, meth addiction, and child psychology. He also reveals to Liz that he had a scuba diving accident that made it so that he can no longer conceive.

Jonathan

Jack's obedient assistant who is of Indian descent. It appears that Jonathan is in love with Jack, similar to The Simpsons' Waylon Smithers and Mr. Burns relationship. When Liz said Jack was a "bit of a stress eater" in "The Baby Show," Jonathan was very defensive of him, saying "he puts up with so much," presumably referring to Jack's overbearing mother. The show has yet to give Jonathan a last name.

Bianca (Isabella Rossellini) is Jack Donaghy's ex-wife, whose years of marital bliss with the network exec weren't all that rosy, since she was never liked by Jack's mother from the beginning. Her appearance and how they ended up going their separate ways was featured in the episode "Black Tie." She mentions, in "Black Tie", that she is engaged to a man named Vincent Foley. Jack mentioned that she was too much of a woman for him which is why they divorced. Bianca also seems to have a jealous streak towards women who want to marry Jack, as evidenced by Liz pretending to be Jack's fiancée, which resulted in Bianca attacking her at the event.

Floyd (Jason Sudeikis) is an accountant in 30 Rock. In "Up All Night," Floyd accidentally sends flowers to Liz Lemon for Valentine's Day because he intended to send them to his girlfriend Liz Lemler. Liz Lemon, who doesn't know his name, calls him "flower guy."
