Viola Reggio Calabria is an Italian professional basketball club based in Reggio Calabria .
History
The team's name is derived from Cestistica Piero Viola, a basketball team founded in 1966 by judge Giuseppe Viola which folded in 1997.
Another Reggio Calabria side iwas Basket Viola Reggio Calabria created in 1997, it went went bankrupt in late 2007.
Team Basket Viola was founded in 2009, starting from fourth-division Serie B Dilettanti.
