Carlos Francisco Delfino (born August 29, 1982 in Santa Fe ) is an Argentine - Italian basketball player who, in addition to stations in his home country and Europe, played for many years in the NBA , the most highly endowed professional league . As a national player , the three-time Olympic participant Delfino became Olympic champion in 2004 and America champion in 2011 with the Argentine national team .
Career
After two years in the Argentine championship , Delfino moved to Italy , where he played for a total of 4 years. His greatest success during this time was reaching the EuroLeague final in 2004 with Skipper Bologna .
He then moved to the Detroit Pistons , who had already selected him in the 2003 draft, in the NBA. After sustaining a serious knee injury after a short time, Delfino had to sit out for several months. The Pistons moved into the final of the NBA without him, but lost just 3: 4 to the San Antonio Spurs . In 2006 Detroit reached the Conference finals. Despite improvements in his statistics, Delfino remained a substitute.
In the 2007/2008 season he played for the Toronto Raptors , then he moved to Russia to BK Chimki . After a season in which the final of the Eurocup was reached, Delfino returned to the NBA and signed with the Milwaukee Bucks . Delfino played for the Bucks for three years and moved to the Houston Rockets after his contract within the league expired . For the Rockets, Delfino mostly came off the bench as a relief, but could not prevail in the rotation as hoped.
After the season ended, the Rockets prematurely terminated their contract with Delfino. He then returned to the Milwaukee Bucks, but did not complete a single game in the 2013-14 season. In the summer of 2014, Delfino and his teammate Miroslav Raduljica came to the Los Angeles Clippers in a player swap , but both players were released from their contracts before the start of the season.
National team
In 2004 Delfino was Olympic champion in his first major tournament in the Argentine senior team . At the 2006 World Cup he reached 4th place with Argentina. Delfino won his second Olympic medal in Beijing in 2008 by winning the game for third place.
