(2748) Patrick Gene ( 1980 DW ; 1953 FO 1 ; 1975 EK 5 ; 1977 SV 2 ; 1977 TM 3 ; 1977 TS 7 ; 1982 OM ) is an approximately nine kilometers large asteroid of the central main belt that was found on May 5, 1981 by by the American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory about 80 kilometers northeast of San Diego , California ( IAU code 675).
