Ángel Hugo Bargas (born October 29, 1946 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine football player. Very successful at club level for Chacarita Juniors and FC Nantes, among others , he also took part in the 1974 World Cup in Germany with the national team of his home country .

Career

Club career

Ángel Bargas, born in 1946 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, began his football career in the youth department of the Racing Club from Avellaneda . There he was accepted into the first team in 1965, but did not make the breakthrough. Instead, Bargas, who was used in the position of a defender, for the 1966 season to the Chacarita Juniors , where in the first two seasons, however, both times the last place in the table was occupied. Due to an increase or in the second year of the change in the league mode, however, they remained in the top division. In Bargas' fourth year with the Chacarita Juniors, however, the big hit succeeded. Ángel Bargas played for the Chacarita Juniors until 1972 and made 221 league games with four goals in six years. Then he dared the leap to Europe and moved to the French Division 1 for FC Nantes . In 1981, Ángel Bargas changed clubs again and joined CS Louhans-Cuiseaux , where he made 93 games with eleven goals from 1981 to 1984 and then worked for CO Le Puy for one year until 1985 , before the defender began his active career in 1988 ended at FC Angoulême , where he had to book another game after he had actually retired from active football after his activity at CO Le Puy.

After the end of his footballing career, Ángel Bargas worked as a coach, but he has not achieved any great success to this day.

Between 1971 and 1974 Ángel Bargas made a total of thirty appearances in the Argentine national football team . He succeeded in scoring. He was appointed to the South American squad for the 1974 World Cup in Germany by national coach Vladislao Cap . During the tournament, the player from FC Nantes was used three times, with all three appearances taking place from the start. After he played the first round game against Poland (2: 3) and was substituted in the 67th minute by Roberto Telch , Bargas only came back in the last two games of the second final round against Brazil (1: 2) and the GDR (1: 1: 1), where he played both games over the entire season. The Argentine team was eliminated after this second final round, as they only occupied fourth place behind the Netherlands , Brazil and the GDR.
