Ålands Social Democrats ( Swedish Ålands Socialdemokrater , abbreviation ÅSD , SOC or simply S ) is a social democratic party in the autonomous Finnish province of Åland .

history

The party has traditionally been more closely associated with the Swedish Social Democratic Labor Party than with the Finnish Social Democratic Party . It was founded in 1971. However, since 1906 the workforce in Åland had been organized in different ways.

Unlike Sweden or Finland , the social democratic party in Åland is not a leading political force. In the parliamentary election in October 2011 , the party received 18.0% of the vote, making it the third strongest force in the Lagting . With Camilla Gunell , the party provided Åland's head of government after this election . After the parliamentary elections in 2015 , the party remained involved in the government , but has now not appointed the head of government.
