Ötztal moped marathon

The Oetztal moped Marathon is a club exit lane for mopeds of the Oetztal moped association based in Gurgl in the district Imst, the end of June, has been held since 2013 every year and by 2018 the route of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon followed. The Ötztal Moped Marathon is now a fixture in the international motorsport sector. In 2020 the Ötztal Moped Marathon was canceled due to the ban on events, which applies until the end of August 2020.

Rating

In addition to the mopeds, a racing cyclist rides in the field, who sets the fastest time. The rating is based on the time difference to the mean time. This is made up of the time of the cyclist traveling with you and the last one arriving.

There is a separate rating for mopeds with automatic and manual transmissions.

Attendees

Registration is via a website that has been limiting the number of participants since 2016. The mopeds must have 2 wheels in 1 track. A limit of 50 cubic centimeters applies to the engines and they must not be coiffed. Participation with small motorcycles (50 cm²) is not permitted.

In 2015, 78 out of 478 starters did not finish. In 2016, participants from Austria, Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Italy and Germany took part. In 2017, more than 20 percent of the participants were female. In 2019, 291 participants did not finish.

The club exit has an official length of 238 km and leads over 5500 vertical meters, which the drivers need between 7 and 13 hours to master.

The route had a length of 206 km and a total of 6763 meters of altitude. The travel time was between 7 and 12 hours.
