Łącza (German Latscha ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Rudziniec (Rudzinitz) in the powiat Gliwicki (district of Gliwice) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

The place was created in the 14th century at the latest. In 1376 the place was first mentioned together with the church.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Entries describing Silesia as Latscha , belonged to a Countess von Chorinsky and was in the Tost district of the Principality of Opole . At that time he had 135 inhabitants, a Vorwerk , a Catholic church, nine farmers and 13 gardeners . In 1865 Latscha consisted of a manor and a village. The manor belonged to Duke Victor von Ratibor. At that time the place had six farmers, a three-quarter farmer, three half-farmer, three quarter-farmer, four gardeners, two half-gardeners, six quarter-gardeners, two eighth-gardeners, 24 cottagers, 30 residents, a ducal forester and a sub-forester, as well as a Catholic church and a Catholic one School. The inhabitants lived mainly on daily wages in the surrounding ducal forests.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 99 people eligible to vote locally voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 207 for membership in Poland. Latscha remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . In 1936 the place was renamed Föhrengrund in the course of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Lacza in Poland . In 1946 it was renamed Łącza . 1950 the place came to the Voivodeship Katowice. In August 1992 there was a major forest fire in the forests of Rudy (Groß Rauden), which reached as far as the place. On January 30, 1994, the scrap wood church burned out, which was not rebuilt afterwards and was replaced by a new building. In 2000 the new church was consecrated. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Gliwicki and the Silesian Voivodeship.
