Rudziniec (German: Rudzinitz, 1936–45: Rudgershagen ) is a village in the powiat Gliwicki in the Silesian Voivodeship and the seat of the municipality of Rudziniec .

history

Schrotholzkirche St. Michael

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1305.

Rudzinitz became Prussian in 1742 with most of  Silesia   and from 1816 was part of  the Tost district  (later renamed Tost-Gleiwitz) in the  Opole administrative district .

The  referendum in Upper Silesia  on March 20, 1921 resulted in a stalemate in Rudzinitz: 439 eligible voters voted to remain in Germany and just as many to belong to Poland. As part of the constituency of Tost-Gleiwitz, Rudzinitz remained in the  Weimar Republic .

During the time of  National Socialism  , place names of Slavic origin were renamed - Rudzinitz received the name Rudgershagen on February 24, 1936  .  After the Second World War, the place fell to Poland and was renamed  Rudziniec  .
