(10244) Thuringian Forest is an asteroid of the inner main belt . It was discovered on September 26, 1960 by Cornelis Johannes van Houten , Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) in California and has a diameter of a good three and a half kilometers.
The asteroid was named after the Thuringian low mountain range Thuringian Forest .
