(13602) Pierreboulez is an asteroid of the main central belt , which was discovered on August 10, 1994 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809). The asteroid had already been sighted in May 1981 under the provisional designation 1981 JO 4 at the Palomar Observatory in California .
(13602) Pierreboulez was named on June 2, 2015 after the French composer , conductor and pianist Pierre Boulez (1925-2016).
