(16705) Reinhardt is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on March 4, 1995 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in the Tautenburg Forest in Thuringia .
The asteroid was named on March 9, 2001 after the Austrian theater and film director , artistic director , theater producer and theater founder Max Reinhardt (1873–1943), who founded the Salzburg Festival on August 22, 1920 with his Jedermann production .
