(184878) Gotlib is an asteroid of the main outer belt discovered by the French computer scientist and amateur astronomer Jean-Claude Merlin on October 26, 2005 at the fully automatic Ritchey-Chrétien 81 cm telescope of the Tenagra II Observatory in Nogales , Arizona ( IAU code 926 ) has been discovered. The telescope was able to head for Merlin from France when it was discovered.
The diameter of the asteroid is estimated to be about three kilometers.
(184878) Gotlib was named at the suggestion of Jean-Claude Merlin on June 18, 2008 after the French comic artist and editor Marcel Gotlieb (1934-2016), who is known under the abbreviation Gotlib .
