(2433) Sootiyo ( 1981 GJ ; 1939 KA ; 1960 KA ; 1969 QF ; 1974 VZ 1 ; 1978 SG 6 ; 1978 UL ) is an approximately seven kilometers large asteroid of the main inner belt that was released on April 5, 1981 by the US Astronomer Edward LG Bowell was discovered at Lowell Observatory , Anderson Mesa Station ( Anderson Mesa ) near Flagstaff , Arizona ( IAU code 688).
designation
(2433) Sootiyo was named after a term from the language of the Hopi , who belong to the Pueblo culture . Sootiyo means "star boy". The name has the same cultural background as the name of the asteroid (2432) Soomana .
