(274300) UNESCO is an asteroid of the main inner belt discovered on August 25, 2000 at the Andushivka Astronomical Observatory in Haltschyn ( IAU code A50), Ukraine .
Mean distance from the sun ( major semi-axis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of the asteroid lie within the respective limit values that are defined for the Nysa group, a group of asteroids named after (44) Nysa (also called Hertha family, according to (135) Hertha ).
(274300) UNESCO was named on July 12, 2014 after UNESCO , a specialized agency of the United Nations that is committed to the promotion of education , science and culture as well as communication and information .
