(27849) Suyumbika is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on October 19, 1994 by the Russian astronomer Timur Krjatschko at the Engelhardt Observatory of the Kazan Federal University ( IAU code 114). The observatory is located in Zelenodolsk Raion , 24 kilometers from the Tatar capital Kazan .

Mean solar distance ( major semi-axis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of the asteroid are similar to the orbital data of the members of the Flora family, a large group of asteroids named after (8) Flora . Asteroids of this family move in a 4: 9 orbital resonance with the planet Mars around the sun . The group is also called the Ariadne family, after the asteroid (43) Ariadne .

(27849) Suyumbika was named on September 28, 2004 after the Sujumbike Tower , one of the landmarks of Kazan.
