(2855) Bastian ( 1931 TB 2 , 1962 WH 1 , 1971 BD , 1977 QV 2 ) is about nine kilometers in Asteroid of the inner main belt , which on 10 October 1931 by the German (then the Weimar Republic ) astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on the State Observatory Heidelberg-Königstuhl was discovered on the western summit of the Königstuhl near Heidelberg ( IAU code 024).

designation

(2855) Bastian was named after the German astronomer Ulrich Bastian (* 1951) who works at the Astronomical Computing Institute in Heidelberg. Together with the astronomers Siegfried Roeser , after the asteroid (2856) Röser is named, he created the position and Proper Motions - star catalog .
