(30193) Annikaurban is a main inner belt asteroid discovered on April 7, 2000 at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Test System ( IAU code 704) in Socorro , New Mexico as part of the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) project. There had been unconfirmed sightings of the asteroid before: for example in March 1993 under the provisional designation 1993 FC 28 at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile and on December 14 and 17, 1998 (1998 XR 47 ) at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental test system.

According to the SMASS classification ( Small Main-Belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey ), a spectroscopic study by Gianluca Masi , Sergio Foglia and Richard P. Binzel at (30193) Annikaurban assumed a light surface, so it could, roughly speaking, be around trade an S asteroid . The albedo of 0.401 (± 0.144) actually indicates a light surface.

The asteroid was named on November 6, 2014 after Annika Urban (* 2001), a student at Dorseyville Middle School in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , for being in the finals of Broadcom MASTERS 2014 , a science competition organized by the Society For Science & The Public for 6 .- to 8th graders had taken second place in the engineering section. She took part with her project “The Stetophone”, a stethoscope she developed that can send and receive patient data via cellular radio. Her project was supervised by the chemist Eva Malecki, who is her math teacher. After Eva Malecki, the asteroid (30222) Malecki was named for the care . The 1st engineering award of the Broadcom MASTERS 2014 went to Chythanya Murali, after whom the asteroid (30183) Murali was named.
