(4782) Gembloux is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 14, 1980 by the Belgian astronomers Léo Houziaux and Henri Debehogne at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence ( IAU code 511) on a high plateau in south-eastern France .
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.
It was named after the Belgian industrial city of Gembloux in the province of Namur , whose belfry was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.
