(6058) Carl Nielsen is an asteroid of the main belt , which from the November 7, 1978 American US astronomer Eleanor Helin and scolding John bus at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) northeast of San Diego in California was discovered.

The asteroid was named on August 18, 2016 after the Danish composer and conductor Carl Nielsen (1865–1931), who was best known for his symphonies.
