(6795) Örnsköldsvik is an asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on March 17, 1993 as part of the Uppsala-ESO Surveys of Asteroids and Comets at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809). The asteroid had already been sighted on October 22, 1960 under the provisional designation 9561 PL as part of the Palomar-Leiden survey .
(6795) Örnsköldsvik was named on September 28, 1999 after the Swedish city of Örnsköldsvik .
