- 1410 : Defeat of the German army against the Poles and Lithuanians in the battle of Tannenberg in Masuria ; provisional end of the German eastward expansion.
- 1415 , April 30th : At the Council of Constance, King Sigismund gives the Hohenzollern Friedrich I of Nuremberg the hereditary dignity of Margrave and Elector of Brandenburg .
- 1415, July 6th : Jan Hus , a Czech church critic, is arrested at the Council of Constance despite the assurance of safe conduct , accused and committed to death by fire as a heretic .
- 1419 : Beginning of the Hussite Wars .
