The 2008/09 season of the men's 2nd Bundesliga volleyball division was the thirty-fifth edition of this competition.

2nd Bundesliga North

RWE Rhein-Ruhr became champions and promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . Relegated to the regional league were the SSF Fortuna Bonn and ETV Hamburg, the Berlin TSC withdrew.
