- The Romans drive the Carthaginians off the Iberian Peninsula .
- The East Numid king Massinissa changes fronts and supports Rome because Sophonisbe is married to his West Numid rival Syphax . Syphax drives Massinissa out of eastern Numidia.
Egypt
- The death of the Egyptian pharaoh Ptolemy IV is kept secret by his ministers Agathocles and Sosibios for almost a year. His son Ptolemy V is only five years old. In the meantime, the rebellious Harwennefer has risen to the rank of anti -king and rules over large parts of the empire.
