- Carthage commissions the general Hasdrubal , supported by the allied West Numid king Syphax, to repel the Roman invasion troops.

- Arsinoë III. , who is supposed to rule Egypt for her underage son Ptolemy V , is murdered in a palace revolt by the ministers Agathocles and Sosibios . After the death of Ptolemy IV became known , Philip V of Macedonia and the Seleucid Antiochus III. presumably a robbery treaty to divide Egypt.
