For the attack on France , the 213rd Infantry Division was subordinated to the 7th Army and moved to the Franco-German border. After the 7th Army had crossed the Rhine, the 213rd Infantry Division advanced to Mulhouse . In the period from July 1940 to February 1941, the division was inactive. The division members were given leave of absence in the home military district VIII ( Bunzlau ). Only the staff remained in place.
