Division history
The 213rd Infantry Division was set up in Glogau as a division of the 3rd wave of formation in August 1939 . Shortly thereafter she served as a reserve in XXXV. Army Corps of the 10th Army and moved into their staging area near Breslau before the attack on Poland . From there they marched across Kalisch , Lodz and finally to the battle of the Modlin Fortress . In Poznan , the 213rd Infantry Division acted as an occupation force for a time.
For the attack on France , the 213rd Infantry Division was subordinated to the 7th Army and moved to the Franco-German border. After the 7th Army had crossed the Rhine, the 213rd Infantry Division advanced to Mulhouse . In the period from July 1940 to February 1941, the division was inactive. The division members were given leave of absence in the home military district VIII ( Bunzlau ). Only the staff remained in place. On March 15, 1941 there was a reorganization and division into the 213rd , 286th and 403rd security divisions .
