The Harro Koebke is the only sea rescue cruiser (SK) of the 36.5 m class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS).

construction

The ship, which is made of seawater-resistant aluminum , was laid down on December 6, 2010 at the Fassmer shipyard. The rollout took place on March 12, 2012, on March 13, 2012 the ship with the DGzRS internal designation SK 32 was launched for the first time. The tests started on March 30, 2012 in the Outer Weser . The handover to the DGzRS took place on April 27, 2012 in Berne -Motzen.

Naming

The rescue cruiser was christened Harro Koebke on May 26, 2012 in Sassnitz . This honors an entrepreneur from southern Germany who died in 2003 and who presented the DGzRS with a notable donation in his estate.

The daughter boat was named Notarius . This comes from one of the most important people in the traditional Bremen ice bet , who always checks on January 6th whether the Weser is flowing or frozen.

Sponsors were Britta Sellering, the wife of Erwin Sellering , Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , and Anne Mühlwald, the daughter of the Sassnitz foreman .

deployment

On April 30, 2012 the cruiser was transferred to Sassnitz . After the trial run, he took over regular service at the Sassnitz station on May 18, 2012, replacing the Wilhelm Kaisen built in 1978 there .

particularities

A special feature of this cruiser is, among other things, the daughter boat, which is a completely newly developed, fast rigid inflatable boat with a closed deckhouse. It bears the DGzRS internal designation TB 35 and was tested off the coast of Scotland and at the DGzRS station in Sassnitz .
