trans -4-methylcyclohexylmethanol

Due to the substitution pattern on the cyclohexane ring , 4-methylcyclohexylmethanol occurs in the form of cis , trans isomers, which have different properties. In technical applications, a mixture of the two isomers is usually used.

use

4-methylcyclohexyl methanol is a solvent, it becomes a foam flotation ( English froth flotation ) in the coal washing used.

release

4-Methylcyclohexylmethanol attracted media attention when, on January 9, 2014, several thousand liters of the substance were released into the environment as a result of the chemical accident at Elk River .
