action
The Whaley family is having a boozy party. Their twin sons William and Scott and the guests' children prank phone calls by calling total strangers. When the party party is asleep drunk and the children have fallen asleep, the phone rings. Scott picks up the phone, the caller is one of the previously called and threatens him. A few seconds later, a masked man storms through the door with an ax and brutally slaughters the parents and their guests. The children are spared. Detective John Criton is investigating the case, but is unable to solve it.
Ten years later. Marcus perfected the party game 75 . The aim is to dial a random phone number and keep the called party on the line for 75 seconds. Furthermore, another brutal murder with an ax takes place. Detective Criton and his colleague are reopening the old case because the parallels to the current murder are obvious. They find out that the murder victim was one of the children from ten years ago. All children were adopted at that time and live with new names.
Brandon, son of a wealthy television producer, is giving a party in their exclusive parents' house. Detective Criton is looking for the other surviving children because he suspects something. He finds one of them dead. Meanwhile, Marcus suggests his game 75 again at the party. Many go along until Scott calls someone who appears to be committing murder. Horrified, he hangs up. But the person called calls back and makes meaningful threats. It is decided not to answer the phone anymore. Late at night, a girl gives the alleged pizza delivery service the address on the phone.
When the doorbell rings later, she opens the door, believing in the pizza delivery, and is beheaded by an ax. The bloody massacre by a hooded maniac takes its course. One after the other, everyone is slaughtered. Marcus and Karina, the only survivors, watch Scott kill some teenagers as well. When he confronts both of them, smeared with blood, the hooded murderer joins them. Marcus realizes that Scott was killed by his twin brother William before the party. And this is now taking revenge on the murder of his parents ten years ago. He was in a mental institution, and the ax murderer is a friend from that time, but he now also rams a knife in his face. Everyone involved at the time should die. When Marcus overpowers him after William previously killed Karina, Marcus raises the ax. At that moment he is shot by Detective Criton. He kneels over the still living William and considers him a victim. In the background, the badly injured friend from the psychiatric ward gets up and rushes the ax down at Detective Criton.

criticism
"Uninspired teen slasher who does not value the development of the story, but only strings killing orgies."
“'Scream' sends a nice greeting when anonymous phone calls lead to bad slashing and an unresolved matter from the not too distant past demands new mountains of corpses in the present. The young African-American director and co-star Brian Hooks began his career as an actor in comedies such as 'High School High' or 'Soul Plane' and was able to win over the genre veteran Rutger Hauer for this rather bloody matter. An experienced slasher with everything that goes with it for fans of the subject. "
