A Different Kind of Truth is the twelfth studio album of American rock band Van Halen , which in February 2012 on the label Interscope Records was released. The album reached number 2 on the US charts. It is the first studio album with singer David Lee Roth in 28 years.

history

Roth left the band in 1985 but rejoined the band in 2007. On A Different Kind of Truth for the first time is Wolfgang Van Halen , the son of Edward Van Halen and nephew to hear of the drummer Alex Van Halen, which Michael Anthony had replaced of 2006. Many of the songs on the album are from old demo recordings , so it's styled like the first six albums. It was produced by John Shanks .

Success and criticism

The website Allmusic.com gave 4 out of 5 stars and wrote: “Of course, the entirety of this comeback is designed to revive the spirit of the first five or six Van Halen records, and building the album upon those old demos turns out to be a savvy move, as they not only saved promising songs, but re-oriented the band, pushing them toward their essence.
